DESCRIPTION
This elective bridges traditional Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), managerial accounting, and
artificial intelligence. The course prepares MBAs to design, evaluate, and interpret AI-assisted financial
planning systems, focusing on sales forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and capital allocation.
The course introduces foundational concepts in artificial intelligence and machine learning—including
supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning—and applies them to core FP&A tasks. Students
also learn how generative AI can support financial analysis through automated narrative generation
and decision support.
Emphasis is placed on managerial evaluation of AI systems, including model performance,
interpretability, governance, and ethical considerations. The course equips students to effectively
deploy AI in business settings while maintaining appropriate oversight and accountability.
