DESCRIPTION
Kellogg’s Private Equity Applied Strategy Practicum course is a faculty-directed experiential learning course that gives students the opportunity to apply private-equity concepts through academic analysis, case-based exercises, simulations, and structured engagement with either Private Equity Firms (Program A) or their portfolio companies (Program B). Students may decide to participate in either Program A or Program B.
Students work in faculty-assigned, cross-functional teams on academic projects developed and supervised by the professor. The professor assigns each team to either a Program A or Program B company to focus on selected projects.
Projects are designed to provide students with the opportunity to analyze real-world business challenges facing private equity firms and portfolio companies and develop evidence-based recommendations using business concepts and analytical frameworks. Student-teams conduct research, perform analyses, and develop recommendations in areas such as product management, strategy, finance, marketing, strategic analysis, and business operations.
